How many exts are possible?

Once labor is filed, H1 can be extended in 1 yr increments. Now is there any limit to how much extensions one can get? For example, after filing labor it takes a good 8 years (with retrogression and all), is it possible to file for 8 extensions?
 
Thanks for answering GotPR. Now to qualify for the 1 yr increment - does labor need to be APPROVED or APPLIED 365 days before 6 yrs?
