How long will it take to get I-485?

Hello everyone,

We had our fingerprinting done on Nov.25, and the online status page states that our fingerprinting results were received on the 26th. I was wondering if anyone in this group has had their fingerprinting done around that time, and have received I-485 approval yet.

Thanks for your response.

TSC
I140(EB1) approved Sep 2003
I485 RD : Feb 2004
FP : Nov 2004

We learned as ppl are posting, the avg seems 1-2 months now days.
Note: SR country ppl shared it took more than expected, may be name check and other clearance.

Does ur online msg says that "they received FP and pending to review" or "they resumed the case"

Good Luck

I did my FP on the same day as you and have not yet had any LUD after the one stating that FP was received and processing resumed on 11/26.

I am hopeful of an approval soon, even though my RD is DEC 03.

If it doesn't arrive before the end of Feb I will have to apply for AP.

Price of jungle,

Please clarify the USCIS activity difference between "received FP and pending to review" AND "received FP and resumed processing".

FYI : In my case they received the FP and resumed the processing.

Thanks very much for your responses.

The online status says that my fingerprinting results were received on Nov.26th, and processing has resumed in my case.

Also, I am not sure what LUD is. Can you please clarify?

Thanks a lot.

Sample: pending review
On ......., the fingerprints for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were collected and are pending review

sample: resumed
On ......, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case.

Pending review mean , name check pending.

Resumed mean name check done, ur file is ready for approval , and in queue.

Good Luck

PrinceofJungle,
Thanks for your clarification. But I wonder if "Resumed" really means "name check done, ur file is ready for approval , and in queue". Some posts before said their cases are still pending for name check although case status saying "Resumed".

PrinceOfJungle,

FP reveived and resumed does not mean the name check has been done. Coz, when I gave my 1st FP in Nov 2003 I got the same message saying FP received and resumed. But when I went to Local office yesterday(as my case is transfered to Charlotte) I found out that the Name Check is still pending.

And I had to give a 2nd FP yesterday as my 1st FP is expiring next month.

This is mis-leading...Resumed mean name check done, ur file is ready for approval

With highly respect, all I shared is my understanding, not necessary all should agreed with it.

I believe you may aware of it that there is a shelf/rack called ".....???", (find/search USCIS field officer internal memo about con-current procedure march 2003/4 ) ppl who have done FP and came clean without any flags, their files are kept in queue and they are ready to approve by officer.

Ofcourse the officer make decession based on facts and evidience docs submited by you, along with other agencies have cleared u.

Btw didn't u ppl notice the trend has changed about how they process than years ago, just take a look this page ppl who done FP and got approval within months.

What does it all indicate? noone is 100% sure how they are working internaly, what guideline they follow, how many other agencies are involved to clear ur name and how and when??.... all we share is our understaing and guess.

I owe applogize to ppl who think that they are mis-leaded by my understanding I post and they are not agree with it. with highly respect pardon me.

Good Luck

Note I never try to mis-lead to anyone, I clearly wrote to use common sense, Plz do read the text of the following pic what it says :D

I think on this one, I agree with POJ. The trend we have seen so far, they start the file with FP. If it omes back good and clean, then they issue either a RFE or Approval mostly within 1-3 months.
