It is US employer who starts the GC process. Steps for GC are LC to be filed by Employer then LC must be approved then I-140 approval then I-485 approval. It depends on your Country of Birth and if employer file LC in Eb2 or EB3. At this time it may take 7-8 years if you are born in India/China. We dont know your details if you are working in US on H1.
Fast GC is through EB1 and you can Search and read the requirements for EB1.
