How long until receipt

hello, i sent in my i-485 on wed. assuming they accept it and all, how long will it take to get a receipt? see, i will be able to get a legal driving license with that receipt. here is what the dmv emalied me:

You may apply for your license with your I-797 Notice of Action Receipt for your case type of I485.

could it really take like five days? i know they got on a thurs and they will probably take a four-day weekend, but five days? some have posted that.

would like some ideas and hear of what you guys know. thank you.
