how long to wait for receipts?

How long shud we wait for 485 receipts to come? What if some never get any receipts? Can we call up USCIS to track it? Any other options?
 
Best way to get to know the receipt number - is by looking at the back of the checks to USCIS - that got deposited....

The receipt notices - I wouldn't say to wait for them....considering the frontlog that they had on H1B receipt notices...recently...it may be fair to assume - months before they issue receipt notices...

And how long will it take for the checks to get cleared?

Register yourself there and add your info.
Following are the relevant columns:
Application Mailed - Obvious
USCIS Receipt Date - Date of delivery of your I-485 (and other) applications
USCIS Notice Date - RD (or your Receipt Date)

You can see the progress/pattern by sorting the list by column headers.

I-485 Faqs?

I was wondering if someone knows a link to I-485 which gives information on the process, proessing time and more. I sent my application on June 29 and new developments leave me with many more questions.

1. how long to receipt notice?
2. how much time before fingerprinting and EAD?

With the floodgates open and USCIS drowning in applications, receipt notices will take a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time to be produced.

I created an online account with USCIS but am not finding it reliable.My 485 has a receipt date of June 26 but today I got FP notice in mail dated July 11.LUD is still June 26 online and I did not get any email too.When everybody talks about LUD is it the same LUD in portfolio or somewhere else.

What about applications sent before Aug 17?

What about applications sent before Aug 17. Say the service center does not issue a receipt notice will the application be sent back. How exactly will it work.Any inputs.

LUD is from the online portfolio. It is not normally updated when they send a fingerprint appointment. Sometimes it is updated within the few days after you give fingerprints, but not always.
 
Just thought i'ld inform all that I have received the receipt notice for my wife's 485.
I had applied on June 21 and they had received it on June 25.
The notice date is July 14 though.

The RD is June 25 2007 (the date USPS delivered the packet as per my tracking #)
The Notice date is July 14 2007.

The checks haven't been cashed so far.
