How long to get SSN for spouse with EAD?

Guys,
Can you let me know usually how long it takes to get SSN for spouse who applied SSN based on EAD?.
We have been waiting for 6 weeks now and no news from Social Security Office. Can we track the application?.

My wife\'s SSN card has been processed...

I just called local SSA office and enquired about the status. They told that the card was processed a week ago and will be receiving in a weeks time.
If you guys want to enquire about the status, go to www.ssa.gov and check you local office number or 1-800- number. Local office number would be better as you don\'t have to wait long..
 
SSN and EAD

Same thing here. We applied on Feb 15th - No news yet - more than 70 days. I called the 1800 number - went to the local INS and restarted the process on April 29th. She needs to start her work by end of May!

The system sucks!
 
Can we do something about it?

Can we do something about this? Is there a way to expedite this?
Do we have a fax number for customer service?
Can attorneys help?
 
Checked with SSA office...

They send my spouse\'s papers for INS verification and asked us to wait for 90 day!!
