How long to get plastic card?

Hello,

I got stamped(I-551) yesterday.

Today my online Customer Portfolio shows last update date on the case 08/31/05 and online status changed to

"The status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center."

Is this normal message you get, while Approved?

Also, how long to get actual plastic card? I want to travel, so waiting for it eagerly.

you really should't get such message. The status should say that the case has been approved and they ordered the card. In a couple of days it should say that they mailed it. My on-line staus changed the same day I had the interview.The interview at 1pm and at 8pm the same day I got an e-mail that the case was approved. The card should arrive up to 10 business days or earlier. i see other guys in the forum have some "bad" signals too. The NBC might have problem with the comp sys 'n data. Check that out by phone.

I think the I-551 stamp allow you to travel and work like you have a GC. Correct me if I am wrong.

Right, the stamp serves just as the plastic. It;s werd though, cause when I had my interview, I asked the officer if he would stamp my passport. he said, they don't do that anymore and the card would be shortly in the mail. Obvously there are still Dos that stamp.
