how long to get passport

Hi

I am in SF bay area, I would like to send $97 to get passport, it says
I will get passport within 6 weeks, do you know how long passport will arrive ?
I have travel date in 1/30.

If you know that you have to travel on 1/30...why not pay the extra money to get the passport expediated? This way, it'll come in like 2 weeks or so. :confused:

Just my opinion :D

You better pay the extra money to get the passport expediated, because I applied my passport early last month and just received it more than 4 weeks. Remember from now to Jan, the process may slow down because of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Good Luck!

I would advise you to pay the extra $60 if you can. I applied on 11/21 and got my passport on 12/02. With your travel date so close, do you want to risk it?

Also realize that with the new passport rules (you now need a passport to fly to Canada and a few other places that you've never needed a passport for) the passport office is probably more swamped than usual.
