How long should a GC holder wait before filing for unemployment benefits?

Hi everybody, I just got laid off at the end of August 2009 and claimed for unemployment benefits.I have my conditional greencard as of march 2009, before that I worked on my F1 visa OPT with the same company. My problem is when I claimed the unempoyment it shows that my employer didn't put any unemployment tax for me before January 2009.(that's when I started to use my EAD that was based on 485).so it looks like I didn't work.Are the employers exempt form paying unemployment insurance for F1-OPT employees?is that why it is not showing?

F-1 status holders are not eligible to collect unemployment benefits, so I would expect that the employer also isn't required to pay unemployment insurance for them.
