Please does any one know the typical time between a principal's 485 approval and that of the spouse. My 485 was approved some days back and no news on my wife's. I called USCIS and was informed that hers will be processed in its own time.

Were the applications filed together..? If yes, then its only a matter of days or a few weeks. Dont panic...
Look at my case. My wife's application was added to mine after an year. My application is approved but not hers. She hasn't even been called for a fingerprint yet. I dont expect her approval for another 6 months or so.
 
Spouse got RFE

I noticed from the USCIS website that my spouse got an RFE. Has anyone had this experience of spouse getting an 485 RFE 2 weeks after the principal's 485 is approved?

I haven't heard of this myself but I'm sure that it can happen.

My guess would be that this is for something relatively benign such as needing to do photos again, medical checks etc. I can't imagine that it would be anything that could lead to denial as long as there is no issue with the derivative applicant being out of status etc.

Let us know what happens!
