How long it takes to receive GC After landing in Canada

Few months back me and my husband received the immigrant visa which is valid for 6 months. We are planning to leave for canada next month. The immigrant visa is a single entry visa.

Question: How long does it take to receive GC after landing Canada. Also, do we have to be in Canada to receive the GC or it can be mailed somewhere else after we have landed in Canada.

-- By GC, you mean the PR card of Canada, right? I do not know the exact timeframe to receive the PR card, but I know that it cannot be mailed outside of Canada. It is better to stay back until you receive the card, because there are cases in which the photos for the PR card were not to the specification and the CIC asked people to visit the local office for the photo. This will be too much of a pain if you have already left Canada.
