How long is EAD valid??

Hi friends,
1)How long first EAD is valid once you get approved? Do we need to re-new every year till to get GC?
2)What is the benefit for applying EAD if we have valid visa for three years? Should I apply now or better to apply after three years? (money saving)
3)If we have first EAD, is it easy for 2nd EAD get approved?
4)Suppose I am working uusing my EAD, and my EAD get expired, however I have not received the approval of second EAD, can I work for the same employer?

Thank you so much for your help. Frustration is more day by day due to poor USCIS response. I know we all are in the same boat.

>> 1 year and Yes, you need to renew yearly.

>> No specific advantage as far as I know unless your spouse wants to utilize to work (if he or she holds H4 instead of H1).

>> You are not supposed to work since you don't have working authorization. Once you used your EAD, your H1B becomes invalid.
