how long for the I-130 to be approved

hello all.

i got married to an american citizen, i reside outside of the US now,my lawyer in the states filed for me and got a reciept back from the immigration office in newark ,nj they received my application on March 1 2005. how long it will take for the I-130 to be approved

your answer is highly Appreciated.
 
hi the time peroid is different for every service center. my i130 was received sept 23 2004 at california center. and i have no descsion yet
