How long does one need to work for employer after CP

I was deciding that going the Consular Processing route would be faster to get GC than I-485.

I was wondering how long does one need to work for sponsoring employer after getting GC? Can I leave the company within a month?

AC21 does not apply in case of CP, so the rule of working for employer for 6 months after filing I-485 will not be applicable.

Thanks in advance.

----- dont know your PD. I-485 is better, you get EAD AP and eligible for AC21 and if something goes wrong the MTR or appeal but with CP no EAD AP, AC21, MTR or appeal

-------many lawyers say work 6 months to be safe

----------AC21 is for job change with same/similar skills when I-485 is pending more than 180 days. AC21 does not say that one must be working with employer for 6 months after I-485 filing where did you read that??.
Thanks in advance.

My priority date is April 2004, labor is still stuck in BEC. Hope this will come out soon. When it does, while filing I-140, need to state CP or 485.

Also I was considering CP, because 485 is taking a long time...

Is there any risk in CP, I have not heard of any cases having issues with CP thus far.

I meant the same thing that need to stick with the employer for 6 months (180 days) after 485 is filed and is pending. If this is approved, then the GC would have been approved.

------------- On I-140 even if your lawyer writes CP still you CAN file I-485 with I-140 approval notice or I-140 filing receipt

------------ because of PD retrogression CP will NOT be approved if PD is not current, as the things stand today if your PD is 2004 and EB3 India then it may take minimum 2-3 years to get GC. Even if you file CP or I-485 you are going to be approved only when PD is current for you. In next 6-12 months lot of EB3 LC are going to be approved that have PD of 2001,2002 and pending with BEC. Nobody at this time can predict how the PD for EB3 is going to move in future

You did not post your country of birth
you did not post if your case is EB3 or EB2
Your I-140 is not filed
**Better post in I-140 thread so that you can get more responses to your questions
* if your question still remains unanswered regarding AC21 then post in AC21 thread or I-485 threds

I am aware of this. There are not that many EB2 filings during that time, so this should move faster.

Your I-140 is not filed
Labor is not yet approved, so I-140 is not filed. I will be filing this on receipt of I-140.
