how long does it takes to get your passport back after interview

Hello DV winners,

Does any one has any idea on how long it usually takes to get your passport back after an interview. It is possible to ask for the passport to be given back on the same day of interview.
I have to go to some other country 3 days after my interview for business and I am not able to cancel or reschedule it anyway. I was wondering if anyone has the same kind of experience or problem. I guess most of the flight people (pilots, air-hostesses) face this problem.

They don't usually keep the passport with them, so if they are not going to issue you the visa soon, they usually give you the passport back especially that you have to submit one copy of the first pages of your passport along with the other documents on the interview day. In my case, they gave me the passport back and asked me to submit additional documents. When I submitted them, they asked me to come back to the embassy after two weeks.

Hi Sagamihara_boy, If you are doing your interview in KTM then they will ask you to collect your PP the next day.

That would be fine if I was in Nepal. Unfortunately I am not. And thanks directlink2007 for the answer. So it means, that you might have to wait for another few weeks (if they asked for additional papers). Humnn
 
Hi sagamihara_boy,

About the case for US Embassy Tokyo, people usually receive a passport next day by Expack.
