how long does it take to get the receipt for 485

My attorney told me that it takes about a month. However, AVM says 6-8 weeks. I hope it is faster. My friend, who filed his AOS recently, got it within a month.

Usually it takes 1-2 weeks. You can also get the receipt number from the canceled check.

transfer to SFO - Receipt notice not received

Hi Gurus,

My 485 petition was transferred from Philadelphia to SFO on June 13, 2002. I got the transfer notice from Philadelphia INS Office. Till date, I didn't receive any receipt notice from SFO.

But I got EAD and AP from SFO, INS in this month.

Shall I get receipt notice from SFO? If so, how long will it take?
IF not, what is the procedure to enquire? Your help is highly appreciated.
