How long does it take to get reciept for EAD renewal?

FYI

Per my lawyer:

There is not much I can tell you. Per my sources, the BCIS REJECTS applications for EAD renewals filed for more than 90 days in advance. I know that this is a catch 22. My advice to you is to file in about two weeks, so that it is received and processed in the CSC by May 30, 2003. I also recommend that you file for your spouse - even if she does not work.

Dude, you have a sucker for an attorney (not trying to be mean.. don't take me wrong)

My EAD is expiring on 7/9/2003

My attorney sent my EAD renewal papers on 2/2/2003(I procrastinated a lot.. My attorney moves at the speed of a bullet) and my RD for EAD renewal is 2/10/2003.. you do the math!

it is a must for you to file well before 90 days. EAD is not backdated. which means that there will be a lapse in your status if you continue to work after current ead expires and the new one is pending.
