How long does it take to get EAD on L2

Hi

I have applied for EAD on my L2 visa on march 16th 2007. When I checked the status of my application online it says, "received and pending".
How long does it take to get my EAD. I was told that it would take 2-3 weeks but im not pretty sure about it.
please let me know.

And also, do I have to apply for SSN only after I get my EAD or can I apply for it anytime??

Please suggest me.

can be anything between 30-90 days
 
HI,
I applied for EAD on my L2 visa on December 7th and I got it on March 4th. So I guess that is the average period that it takes.

You will have to apply for SSN only after getting the EAD card in hand. That is required for application of SSN. The SSN will take another 10 to 14 days after applying.

Hi,
I had applied for my wife's EAD 2 months ago on March 23 but till date her petition is still "received and pending".USCIS has not even asked for the additional supporting documents as yet. Could you advise if I need to follow-up?
Also my wife got SSN before her EAD by producing the marriage certificate & copy of my L1 petition.
