How long does it take to apply for EAD?

If someone recently has applied for EAD, can you tell me how long it takes to get EAD? and can I apply at the local office (NEWARK)? Thanks.

Mine approved in 23 days at VSC. Of course it was applied with 485 receipt and I did it myself.

EAD ND:6/2/01 Approval: 6/25/01

Mine was a renewal. Got approved on 06/28. RD 05/25. The message says this case has been approved. It does not say anything like \'card has been ordered and you will receive....\'.

What did your message say.
