how long does it take for background check

i applied for us visa b1,b2 in june 15 and they put me in background check and its been almost 2 months now and i duno how much more time does it take they asked for pr copies and parents name plz someone help me out if any of our forum members hav same problem and where they do this bakcground check usa or my native country i m from pakistan

Hello-
For Back ground check it takes almost 3 to 4 weeks but if ur names matches withthe list they have then they ask for Parents info etc tec...they make sure that visa applicant is not the one they found in the list.

after security check they actually give u the visa or still in chance

the clearance is done in Washington, DC I beleive in State dept or some where......& yes once they are satisfied they will issue you the Visa......
