I am a greencard holder and want to file my wife for a GC. Does anybody know approx how long does it take to get the i-130 approved?.

i heard it takes 3-4 yrs previously and now I am hearing that some people are getting it in less than an year..is this correct...will it depend on the state we are residing?. I am statying in philadelphia, Pennsylvania state.....

Getting the I-130 "approved" is a trivial matter. The filing date of the I-130 becomes the "priority date" for the F2A category on the visa bulletin (VB). The VB controls when a visa becomes available and THAT is what is taking the 3 to 4 years.

So, for you, assuming you have filed the I-130 already or will very soon, you could possible naturalize before the priority date becomes current, in which case you could UPGRADE the petition upon naturalizing and speed up the availability of the visa and start the Consular Processing sooner for her to get her Immigrant Visa and join you in the U.S.
