How long can you stay out of USA?

Hi guys,

I am in the final stage of my I-485 process, and already received AP. Now my
wife needs to go out of the country on business for about 4 months. Is there
any limit on the number of days one can stay out of USA in this stage? My lawyer
said something about 60 days, but I haven\'t seen any rule about that.
If anybody has been in similar situation, please let me know.
Appreciate all your help.

 i went outside U.S. on AP for 6 months.The only thing the ILO at port of entry told is that you should be careful about the expiry date.
