How long can the extensions go on ?

Hi Ginnu and other experts:
My friend is on his last two years of H1 and has not applied for his green card yet. He has been made an offer from a good company in California that is offering to do his green card process, but with NON-RIR process. They don't have labor certification substitutes either. He is thinking of whether to take the offer since the LC time is too long in CA and he is not sure if he can get H1 extensions for more than the 8th year.

Is there a limit to how many years you can keep extending the H1 after 6 years ?
Any advice for him ?
He is thinking to take the offer or not ?

--- His LC should be filed ASAP in regular or RIR so that his LC should be pending more than 365 days before he hits 6 years limit and if his LC is filed now then he is eligible for 7th year extension because his LC will be pending more than 365 days

----- if LC pending more than 365 days one can get 7th year H1 then 8th year H1.
For extension of 7th year one needs
LC filed by ANY employer 365 days back AND evidence that LC was filed
OR I-140 filed and pending Or I-485 filed and pending
Any advice for him?
He is thinking to take the offer or not ?
