How long can I wait for stamping...

Mine and my kid's 485 was approved on Jan 28th. We got approval notices in a weeks time. However my wife got a medical RFE and we sent in the papers which was acknowledged by USCIS last week. Can I wait for my wife's approval before I go for stamping together ( whole family ) or should I get it done now and she later. It is cumbersome to go twice.

How long can I wait after approval before I get the PP stamped. I am in no hurry to get the plastic anyway ?
 
It is hard to predict!. Some people have been waiting for more than 6 months while some got with in weeks. (I waited for about 2 months)

Maybe I didn't phrase the question well. I am not talking about the wait to get the plastic, I am asking how long can I not go for stamping after getting the 485 approval notices ? Is there any deadline before which you have to get the PP stamped after getting the 485 approval notice ?
