My lawyer says that it is taking 9 -12 months for an interview to be scheduled in Montreal after the I-140 AD. Is that possible?
I was under the impression that it was quicker. Wondering if we should go I-485 so my wife can start working sooner - any comments would be very helpful. dabig8:confused:

My Montreal Experience

NVC received my I-140 Feb 5, 2002.
My interview in Montreal is scheduled Aug 6, 2002.

I did run into issues as the NVC requested my original birth certification so that added an additional month. My co-workers who had the I-140 approved earlier are still waiting.... Good luck...this process is really long.

Absurd!

Your lawyer is giving you a story, likely so he/she can take his/her time with processing your case or scare you into making a decision such as AOS.

Check www.cptracker.com for other recent cases being processed for Montreal. You'll see that most interviews are scheduled within 4-5 months (some 6 months) of the NVC receiving your case from the INS service center. Show this data to your attorney and watch the squirming start....
