How long are Oath ceremonies?

Eringo,
was it in SF? Any docs to take besides green card, drivers license and the letter sent by INS (filled out)? At oath, there is no 1:1 interview right? its all like a church mass, right? Do I have to prep anything: oath language, etc?

thanks!

Mine was at Sacramento..There was 800+ people...actual ceremony starts at 10.30,time on my oath letter is 8.30 am....everything(including SSN) done by 11.45 ....

That's all you need to take, and the form filled out. You probably will not need the DL but you would need that to drive there. :D.

As to language, if you cannot easily understand continuously spoken basic English then you can take along an interpreter. At my Oath, there were about 5 people they put in the back row with their interpreters who translated the proceedings on the fly. There was s steady murmur from the back the entire time. :)

The start time for handing over paper and GC and getting settled in the Court room was 12:30pm. The actual Ceremony began about 1:00pm and we were out of there around 2:30pm.

I was wondering how long they run. Anyone? I'm trying to plan out my oath day.

The tie frame will vary greatly depending on where your oath is being taken. If you can find a thread for your DO, maybe post your question there.

Personally, my oath was scheduled for 1PM - I arrived around 12.15pm, oath ceremony started around 2pm, was finished by about 2.30pm, than another hour or so to collect the certificate. This was at the LACC with about 6000 other applicants.
