How long after the receipt of RFE response?

Guys,
Is there a maximum time limit to finalize a case after receiving the response for the RFE?
CIS received our responses on 01/20. I saw LUD changes on 21,24 and 27. Nothing after that. We saw quite a few approvals for some of our Forum members whose RFE-resonses were received on the same date(01/20). But for me, I am getting panic by checking the status evey 10 minutes (day and night).
Any insight please??

should be soon, but random

Someone in the forum did some statistical analysis and concluded that within 7 to 21 days, the probability to get approval is 90%. :D

I am an outlier for his/her analysis. NSC received my RFE in Jan 10th and LUD is Jan 13th. Since then( more than 21 days) nothing has happened.

I called NSC last week and a lady told me that after RFE, the case should be close within a month or two. ;) So I fall into the NSC analysis now.

I am doing the samething like you to check the online status all the time.

Thanks for your reply Tonyz. Hope our approvals come soon.

By the way, how did you contact the NSC? Is there any specific number to talk the concerned Officer? On the RFE, we can see some Officers id: can we talk to him directly?

Here are my case details:

EB3
485 RD/ND : 02/26/03.
RFE 12/04/04.
Response received : 01/20/05.
Last Update Date: 01/27/05.

I am in the same boat

RFE received on Jan 20th,
LUD's changed on 21, 24 and 27 and after that no clue. Some members with same pattern got their approval on 28th. Last week there were lot of approvals but this week there were few approvals.

I am going crazy. What the heck is NSC doing? Mine is a labour substitution case and I was wondering if I am hit by retrogression.

Hi, Ganse

I think we both know it is not useful to check the online status all the time, but we are crazy and we still do. I just did it and came back to the forum.

What I talked is the 800 number from the RFE and I did not talk to my officer. I think you got an excellent idea about the officer ID. I will call the 800 number again asking to transfer to the officer, which I doubt we can.

Let us do it.

My friend's case was appoved almost 1 year after the first RFE, he had a total for three RFEs - two of them same. So much for statistical analysis

same boat....

NSC recieved my RFE response on 01/21. LUD changed 01/21,24,25,27. waiting......

hi armie

statistically, your friend is also an outlier and in that 10% interval. I also have an-outlier-friend who did her RFE in March 2003 asking for employment verification and she is still waiting.

I had hoped that I could be within the 7-21 days class, but, but I am out now.

NSC is doing probability. If you are randomly sampled with 90% probability, you get your luck. :p

i am in the same boat

I am also waiting for approval. But I got my AP approved today. I hope they approve my I-485 before or instead of approving EAD.

same thing..

My case dates are pretty close to yours. My receipt date is Jan 7th and I'm still waiting for my approval. I called the customer service and they told me that I'd have to wait until March 7th to call them again.

Cheers!

So, then it is officially 2 months they would take after they received the response. Very bad.

Any more approvals for RFE responses received on or around 01/20?? Looks like NSC is sleeping over theses cases???

Arvind,
Congrats!!
Looks like your AP triggered some action. By the way, are your an EB2? I knew a lot of EB2's were approved of late.
Thanks for the update.

AP approved

My AP was approved on 2/4/2005 after over eight months. I was not expecting that they will adjudicate my AP. I was expecting they would adjudicate my I-485 which is pending after RFE response was received on Jan 20th, 2005. Does the AP approval indicate anything? May be it will be a while to process I-485 and hence they approved my AP. Any ideas?

I was hoping that on pretext of pending I-131 for eight months, I will be able to call National customer service and enquire about name check. But with the approval of AP I have no scope to call customer service.

Does any one know if can find out about name check by calling customer service?
