How is Finger Print done?

Long Mission

New Member
I am going to do finger print on May 20th, just curious and want to be prepared, how exactly is it done, just press all ten fingers on the scanner, or have to do some finger-rolling on the scanner?

Thank you!

What they do is, once you are called, all you need to do is rolling... Yes, keep rolling your fingers, all the fingers, back and forth, inside and out, until they ask you to stop. Then, your\'re done. Just joking man! Go there and follow the instructions, you\'ll do fine.

Could any one help figure out what to do, when
1) I submitted EB3 I-485 to CSC on Dec. 26, 1999, was assigned a A# (Visa
#, I guess), and done FP on July. 6, 2000, Cleared FBI soon after.
2) The printed expected processing time on the receipt is 175 days or
so. The automated phone was saying the same waiting time at the first
months of waiting. But changed to some 300 days later, then to some 900
days once more until now.
3) My priority date is 06/06/99. It turns current starting in May for the
Chinese born EB3 applicants. I assume the waiting time for me should be
over. Am I correct? What should I do then?
My guess is:
4) To make sure that nothing is going wrong (since I haven\'t received any
thing except FP), I am sending a letter to make an inquiry;
5) I recently have moved to a nearby neighborhood. But hesitant to
formally notify INS of change of address for fear of possible clerical
mistakes or delays. I do ordered US postal forwarding service and are
receiving forwarding mails quite reliably. But I fear the INS documents
may not be forwardable, by law or by Postal Office regulation? Could you
pls advice?

US postal won\'t forward all the mails from INS.
Its better u also inform INS regarding chage of address.
Inform them every week regarding the change of address (by mails and phone)

Long mission,

The FP process is very easy one...

Goto ASC at the time mentioned...arrive 10 mins. before.

First fill a form with your details.
Turn in the form to ASC with a driver license.

Then get in the queue number.Wait.

First the technician takes a look at your fingers of both hands then start finger print with left hand 4 fingers print.
Then right hand 4 finger print.

Then all the 5 finger each one seperate of left and right hand.
They basically roll the fingers and get the finger print.

The whole process you can see for yourself and there will be a QA person checks finally the information entered right and also checks the quality of the finger prints.

The whole process took 10 minutes.

After fp give it a day and you can call FBI and check the status of prints. You need A# on your 485 receipt.

If FBI tells you that they recd. the fp on some date and returned on the same date then you are good to go.

Rejection rate is very low it seems so you need not worry about that.

Do you need to bring in the original
Finger Print notice into the INS office?
Or is a courtesy copy that your attorney gets
sufficient.

you should take the original copy which is sent to the lawywer on your behalf sometimes
they take that original copy during the FP
