How hard to get I-601 waiver approval?

Hi folks:
My name is Joe. I may have to apply for an I-601 waiver here in the States. The immigration officer told I can apply for the waiver because my two daughters are American citizens. They are 9 years and 2 years old.

My question is how hard to get I-601 approved? Majority get approved or denied? I got mixed messages online, kind of confused.Thank you very much for your kind suggestion.

Also, how long it will take to get an answer? How long a person can stay in the the States if the I-601 get denied? Can he appeal or file it again in the States? Can he use Employment Authorization Card while I-601 pending? Can he stay in the States while the I-601 pending? my family needs your helps.
