How good are my chances?

Hello friends,

Need your advice on applying for Green Card under NIW.

Details:

PhD in Bio-Engineering from top institute in India in 1999
Working in US as Post Doc in Genetics since then, in Universities.

Out of total 10 publications,6 are First Author.

Please advise as to what the chances are for approval under NIW.

(1) Make sure you argue all the points of NYSDOT.

(2) Make sure you prove the national interest with a convincing explanation that the scope is national.

(3) Sell yourself

(4) Get letters that specifically reinforce points 1-3.
 
1.I plan to go through an attorney, so I guess they will take care of all the points of NYSDOT. Am I right?

2.How many reference letters would be advisable to include in the original petition?

3.Would it count, if I get reference letters from the Head of my Department and other professors in my department who I know but have never worked with?

4. Or do I need to get references from professors in Germany, Australia, UK, US, Swiss,etc who are totally unknown to me?Now, why would anyone give a letter to someone unknown??

Because they are aware of your research since you are an accomplished scientist as classified by BCIS under EB1 category.
