how frequently can we call 800 number? Somewhere on site they have mentioed to call only after 60 days from previous requests. If I call now would they create any problem?
I called last month in the middle but want to call again in case my NC is cleared or not.

so when they ask do we have to honestly tell when we contacted them?

No offense.. but let me ask this question this way...
did anyone know they will keep reference when we called? (I highly believe so becaz it is only a written remarks on the computer file)

It doesn't matter how often you call .... however, you are not likely to get a "better" response.

Many cases have been reported here where the phone rep gave a highly unreliable response .... something like NC clear one time, pending the next, security check pending the 3rd time etc ..... Its all frustrating.

Take an infopass appt. to see what is happening in your case.

they keep track

I opened a service request in Feb 07 and again few days back. This time the CSR asked if i got a response to my earlier request and why i need a service request again.

More importantly, for this service request she had all the information about my case, address etc copied from the previous request. I didn't have to give any additional information.

inconsistant reply from NSC and CongressMan

Guys I had contacted NSC around mid of May to find status of my case office or rep told me that name check in not cleared and raised a service ticket and later sent me a letter in first week of June stating my BACKGROUND check is pending.
trust
In the meanwhile after seeing all experinces from people, I finally contacted congressman in our area. His office contact was a very friendly person. HE took all our case details and forwarded details to Nebraska Center. According to the liaison, the FBI name checks are completed for both you and your wife. The fingerprints will be valid until about July 10, and the files are currently with others that have just been reviewed for visa availability. All visas will be current in July, and your files should soon be sent to an officer. However, if the petitions are not approved before July 10, you and your wife will need to have your fingerprints taken again.

Or may be possible my name check has been cleared between service enquiry and congressman contacting NSC. But I do not see any change in LUD though.

I dont know who should I trust? So I think I am going to sit quiet and trust congressman hoping for magic letter.

I asked this before but didn't seem to get any answers. So here it goes again, when do you guys think I should start calling or walking to infopass to get an update of my NC status, given my RD is in mid Feb 07 (so my date is still not 30 days beyond the time yet at NSC)? The current March 07 processing times is kind of screwed up IMHO. If next month they correct it back to some time in 2006, when do you guys think I can do that?

TIA!
