How early do I need to renew AP and EAD?

Hi

I was wondering how early do I need to renew EAD and AP. my I-140 RD is 10/7/03. My husband is using EAD (with i-485) EAD will expire 5/26/05. I am not sure how long usually it takes to get EAD from TSC these days..

questions:

1. How early do I need to apply EAD again for my husband?
2. Do I need to apply through TSC or local INS?
3. If after certain time, EAD is still pending, is there any way to get a temporary EAD or something like that?

----he should apply 5-6 months advance of EAD expiry date to be safe
2. Do I need to apply through TSC or local INS?
-----HE needs to apply with service center where hisI-485 is pending
3. If after certain time, EAD is still pending, is there any way to get a temporary EAD or something like that?
------ after he files for EAD renewal and if he does not get EAD approved in 90 days he can go to local USCIS office to get iEAD( remember iEAD will be issued by local office if noRFE for his EAD

*** he should attach new style photopgrps, color copy of his driving licence and color copy of his first page of the passport with other documents

For AP apply 120 days before expiry, because if during adjudication of a reneval AP, if there are more than 120 days remaining on the previous AP, then the new reneval will be considered as a replacement of the previous one and it will expire the same day as the previous one will.
