How does one apply for a extension of B VISA

I am a greencard holder who has already applied for my citizenship (N-400). I have already received what members in this forum calls a yellow Letter. Awaiting for the interview letter. My wife and I have been married for 2 years and she is currently here on a B visa with an I-94 expiry date of December 16th 2010. Originally the plan was to get my citizenship and then apply for her GC. But now it seems as if I will not get an interview date/oath date any time soon, atleast not before Dec 16th 2010. I am thinking of applying for a EOS for my wife. Just want to know if anyone has been in this situation before and the best possible actions/procedure to take to apply for a EOS. Should I use the services of a lawyer?

Did you already file an I-130 for her? If there is one on file, they will deny an extension.

One wrong thing after another, just incase if you get a nasty IO later for your wife, how will you prove that you did not had "Immigrant Intent" when you filed EOS, he can clearly see you guys where waiting for NAT'Z and had the intent all along.
