I\'m curious. Most of the people I see at the INS Offices are like me. We\'re not exactly the kind of people that would flatter the image of immigrants in the minds of people whose forefathers came here by boat (hey, we\'re Americans too, only we got here by plane). We\'re darned smart but let\'s face it, we\'re not exactly physically attractive or sophisticated or polished. But I digress.
I wonder how INS treats people who are well-known celebreties (if you can forgive my spelling: Canadian actors like that Star Trek Captain William Shatner, our former Joint Chief of Staff John Shalikasvilli from Russia, the British John Lennon and the other Beatles, and the Henry Kissingers of the world). Martina Navratilova, Madeline Albright, the Cuban baseball players, the Canadian and European multi-billionaires, Canadian and British actors, various international media magnates, many of the Nobel prize winners also are supposed to go through the same INS process as we do.
Yes, I\'m sure their team of lawyers do all their work. But when I had gone to get stamps on our new passports, the lady asked me "Where is your wife, she has to be right here in front of me, otherwise I cannot stamp her pasport!". I therefore wonder how the INS treats various celebrities who have to live in America. Has anyone seen Austrian actor Arnold Swartzeneggar stand in line to get his passport stamped? Has anyone seen Steffi Graff wait in line to be interviewed? Or Australian actress Nicole Kidman surely also had her fingerprints taken, right? I cannot imagine her standing in line with the rest of us. What does she do? I bet some subservient INS employee goes to one of her mansions to collect Nicole Kidman\'s fingerprints.
Thoughts anyone?

{Also - could someone reply to the post on temporary stamp expiring and not being able to renew before 30 days? I\'ll be in that boat soon}
