How does FP Notice arrive?

Hi Folks!

Is there any activity on the LUDs that I can see before the FP notice arrives...maybe a message change or an email from USCIS?

Or is it that one fine day, the notice just lands in the mailbox?

Any idea how long after the 140/485 filing does this happen?

Thanks

Just one fine day it shows up. In my case, the on-line status didn't change until after the fingerprints were done.

hmmmmm.... this is really confusing. Some people say that the online status will change and we will get an email in addition to the notice sent from the INS to us and or our attorney.

What happens if it is wrongly mailed to a different address. Also if, for some reason the attorney forgets to notify us.

Gurus please comment !.

Not sure what the "gurus" are going to tell you. That's how it worked for me, and all my family members, and it's how it's worked for many other people. Perhaps for other's it did change. There's no rhyme or reason to the USCIS and I surely wouldn't put much stock in what the on-line message says.

PS. The on-line message said that my son didn't have enough finger printing fees for well over 2 years. (even though the lawyer called and the USCIS said that there really was enough). The next change to the on-line status was after the FP were done about 2.5 years later. (and that was an RFE. It never actually did say the FPs were done)

Thanks Ravioli .. you are a guru too !.

What is your advise on FP notice. I mean how to find out when i should be expecting FP. My attorney is not very co-operative. I have sent atleast 2 emails but no reply from his end.

Then you fall into a bucket called 'Unfortunates' or 'Unluckiest'.

There are only three ways of knowing about your FP...

1. Online status changes (not always happens)
2. You receive a FP notice (to your home address)
3. Your attorney receives a courtesy copy.

Always keep in touch with your attorney regarding FP notice and in case if you change your address, notify NSC by calling 1-800 number and your attorney too.

If your attorney receives your FP notice, usually he will inform you about the notice.

FYI, my online message did not change for FP notice being sent- I have moved and informed INS four months before- even got a confirmation from them, but FP notice was mailed to old address. Only way we knew was from Attorney who emailed me- then fed-ex the copy to me to get FP's.

Three days after my FP's were recieved back by TSC, they mailed me back my old FP notice to my new address!!!!!
