How does DOS or KCC handle hyphenated surnames?

Hi all,

Do you know how DOS or KCC handles names with hyphenated surnames? Do they just discard the hyphen or leave it as it is?

Any winner here has hyphenated surname? How does your winner letter look like, hyphen removed?

Not sure if this helps but I have a hyphenated middle-name. They didn't drop the hyphen, it was there on all correspondence. It's not all that uncommon anymore to have hyphenated surnames so I can't see why it would be a problem for them.

Thanks Vichel.

I asked this because while filling edv application I didn't use hyphen for my wife's surname but I noticed that my wife used hyphen while filling her DS-230 form. The 2NL I got, her surname is not hyphenated. I think they just compare the original application and DS230 forms, keep the original one??
