GC is correted, information in INS system is incorrect

hi, everyone:
my GC was received in April with first name misspelled, filled I-90 to VSC and after about 3 months long waiting , we got new welcome letter and a new card with corrected information on them, i thought it was over by then, but not, after got that card , my family took a long trip outside the US and came back with no problem, but when we go to SS office to remove our SSC conditional, we were told my name in the INS system is not match my GC, so they cant gave me a new SSC, and i have to go to INS to ask them corrected my information in their system, i told them my situation, they said when i filed I-90, they only correted my card but forget to change my name in the system , so i went to INS in Pilly again, and was told i have to wait at least 30 days to 2 months, because they should request my file from Washington DC, to make sure my name on my file is match my GC, then they can change my name in their system, what a mess it is, anybody know this kind of situation, please reply , i am not sure after this looog waiting, i am still take risk of not?
