How do people from "good countries" win their asylum cases?

Hi,
I looked up some statistics based on country and i saw that citizens of France, Germany, Italy, UK etc have an around 50% chance of being granted asylum in court. But how? Anyone know what type of reasons they use and how come the asylum officer denies and refers them immigration court and then the judge overrules the asylum officers decision?

Asylum is based on one of two issues: 1. Past persecution. 2. Well-founded fear of future persecution. You just have to prove, beyond the shadow of a doubt both or either of these points.

Sweden is a sweet country. But recent xenophobic legislation, or attacks on people of color, immigrants, grounds to claim asylum. Persecution from the Mafia in italy, proving any of the points above, also grounds for asylum! Heck....people from the US have been given asylum in Canada on the grounds of the military draft. Skinheads in Germany are grounds for asylum etc. I hope you this helps. Good luck! Poverty cannot be grounds for asylum, but violence, like the one in Nicaragua, El Salvador...;etc, grounds for asylum.

If you have legitimate grounds for asylum, you would already know, because it would be something serious in your life already. If on the other hand you are trying to canvass people here to then build a case around what you think sounds good, that is a recipe for a waste of time. Asylum is not a "fun" process. It's hard on the person applying, and frivolous applications make the process harder for those with a genuine need. So - if you have a REAL problem, then by all means go down that route. Otherwise find some other way to get to emigrate to the USA.

How do you know i was referring to myself? But i agree overall with you. But my question of curiousity was on what grounds do they file? And how do you prove racism and stuff
But most surprising to me was the number of approved asylum cases from those european countries. Even Monaco had 2 approved cases.
