Something slightly different .There are magnet schools too.For those grades, it will probably just depend on what age they are and they will be put in the same grades as other kids their age - but if you have any report cards etc bring them with.
If you know where you will live you can look up the school district and email them to ask, but from our experience it will be age that is the main criterion.

I had dinner with one head teacher and my family and when she talked to my kids, she requested to see their school reports which I did not have but explained about the performance of each kid and she advised that we consider these schools.
Most parents I talked to easily concluded that public schools are better that charter and private schools. All one needs is to live where there are very good public schools. The neighbourhoods in such places tend to be pricy but worth it.Still depends on age. I doubt even a magnet or charter school is going to assign kids of different ages in K-5. If you're in a good enough school district you don't need a magnet school, etc, but I didn't see him asking about the advantages of different types of schools. If you're taking about getting kids in, well, not sure how the kindergarten kid gets a report but And yes I did advise bringing reports. Whether or not you're trying for different school types of just helping the teachers figure out how to approach your child, they can be useful. For older kids, bringing examples of the English and math syllabus they've covered is especially useful, especially if you want them to go onto the math honors programs. But this is not relevant to the ages of the poster's kids.

In Maryland, you get real value for the tax dollar. incomparable to what I get where I am coming from.Yes but a kindergarten report is not going to be hugely insightful as a rule that was what I meant. It's not going to have exam grades!!
And yes good public schools are very often better than private schools. You pay for it in property taxes thoiugh but I think definitely worth it.

They pick and drop kids from the doorstep. I will be paying very good taxes.
