How do I track re-entry permit?

Hello,

I sent in my re-entry permit application 10-12 days ago. My check has been encashed already.
How do I check the status of the application? Especially to figure out if the biometrics notice has been sent..

Any input would be appreciated.

Once you get your receipt, you can check on the USCIS website using the receipt number. This is not a reliable process AT ALL, so don't expect too much. They may or may not update the status of your application online. You can also try to call the 800 number and ask them, or, if you really have to, make an Infopass appointment and ask there.
 
In how long do they send the receipt?

It's been a week, my cheques have been deposited, but the receipt hasn't come. How long does it take to send that? And what about the fingerprinting appt?
Leaving for India in a month, hence the worry.

If you haven't received a receipt notice within 30 days since applying, call the national customer service center and ask to speak to an Immigration Information Officer (IIO). There is an option for applicants that have not received a receipt notice.

The IIO will be able to look up your application using your A-number and will be able to give you the LIN# which you can use to check your status online. The IIO will also be able to give you an update - such as if the fingerprint request has been sent.

Thanks for your help. I received the notice today. Any idea at all how long after this to get the fingerprint notice?
The case status says:

The fee was collected at one location, and the case is now pending at our processing site.
