Several months ago, my husband (who has TN status) and I separated. Our kids and I returned to Canada. Does anyone know how I would go about canceling my TD status? I want to make a weekend trip to the US, and don't want any problems. It is bad enough that I will be traveling with a passport with my married name on it.

You should merely stop in at the US border and hand back all your I-94 in TN (what you should have done was hand back your I-94's to the Cdn officer when you came back to canada; those would have been given to the US border officials as proodf that you left US and gave up TD.
You won't have any problem sentering as tourist as long as you carry evidence (lease, utility bills etc) of your Cdn home.
