How do I ask for a copy of my files at USCIS?

I heard from a friend that possible. He said he asked INS to send him every file that they have about him, and they did so.. Anybody has an experience to share, or know how to do this? Thx

It is called Freedom of Information Act. There is a special form, you can fill it out and sent to any governmental institution and they HAVE to reveal information they have about you. They don't disclose every document and info under FOIA, but you can get almost everything they have on you.
