How difficult is the English and civic test

My interview is scheduled about 2 months from today, I'm becoming more and more neverse for the N-400 interview. Though I studied very hard and with the help from my husband, I could only get my TOEFL score a little above 550 in the third try. I am not very comforable to talk with the immigration officer one to one in a closed room. If I'm neverse, it would be hard for me to understand the officer's questions. Does anybody here know some reference books to help me pass the English test? Thanks.

dont worry

Hi,

The english test is very easy - You are asked to read/write a sentence like
"I am going to new york today" or "I came to newark for interview today".
This is very basic english, they wont ask you complicated words.

Also dont worry about not understanding questions of the officer. You can ask them can you repeat the question if you dont understand it. Normally they are nice people and will help you understand the question.

There are many classes held for immigration tests/videos available on the web to prepare you for the test.

You can practice with your husband with mock interviews etc.

Nervousness is common and should not be a hurdle for you. (I was very nervous at the interview too).

So wish you all the best and prepare well ofr the interview.

Regards

Samansa,

if you're the one who wrote your first post in this thread, then you're able to pass the test. If you don't understand/hear the question, ask the officer to kindly repeat it. It's not necessary to answer immediately, you have a couple of seconds to think about it.
