How did you find a J1 "training" job?

In your cover letter and resume, have you asked for training or a job?
I'm currently sending plenty of cover letters and resumes to find an employer and I'm asking for training since the J1 visa is for training. I say "paid traineeship" for up to 18 months.
But I haven't receive any positive answers yet.

Should I change and ask for a regular job and say that there has to be some training included?

Unless you are applying to places designated by the US Department of State as able to sponsor a J-1, you'll get no response. Not everyone can sponsor a J-1.

Thank you for your answer TheRealCanadian. I already have a sponsor for the J1 visa (CIEE). I just need the employer to fill the DS 7002 form (which is a training placement plan).
