How can this be a good news

The interview process is rather simple: he asked me questions on the form ( have u ever been a member of a communist party etc).
Here's the good news, if he/she asks you to start sgning stuff, you are on your way, don't trip yourself now.

Just curious, how can having you sign stuff in the interview is good news? Does that mean, if there is something wrong with your interview you will not be allowed to sign your application and stuff like that?

Thank you.

Because that probably indicates that the applicant has passed the interview and the case is being recommended for approval.

When I was interviewed there was various stuff to be signed. Here's what I recall:
- some sort of FBI affidavit confirming my full name
- the N-400 application form itself
- front of the photos

I signed
- the test form (the one where the questions are listed and the where you are asked to write your sentence)
- the N-400 form
- the photographs

Once you start signing, it does mean that you are making progress through the check points.

Signing

When the officer asks you to start signing your photographs, N-400, etc it means he has not found a problem with your aplication yet. If he does find a problem, there is no point is having you sign stuff that is going nowhere. Remember, the guy interviewing you only makes a recommendation, then it goes up for final approval.
If he thinks it will not get final approval, why complete the process.
My take on it. I may be wrong, just my experience from my interview, so take it for what its worth.

hi, all:

I also feel  about my husband interview result. He was required to sign on his two photos. But he did not get the checkbox of "Congratulations! blahblah..." on the form N-652. Instead he got "USCIS will send you a written decision about your application". Does it mean his case has been recommended approved and USCIS did not find a problem in his case? Thanks a lot for your opinions!

i dont think that is the case...Whether your case hase been approved or adjudicated as still pending, neverthless you have to sign these documents.Remember there is just one interview and u have to sign these no matter what unless your application is going to be denied.. :)

Some questions:
If USCIS reject the application, didn't they tell the applicant directly it's not approved at interview and send the written decision by mail later? I heard some cases in this forum, if people is stuck in name check, background check or missing some documents, they got "A decision cannot yet be made about your application" and also with written sentence specified b/c name check pending or something else or just tell the applicant the reason.

Thanks.

Bestwishoh -- I think for your husband, something is pending. Like name check. If they wanted to deny it, I don't think they'll have qualms doing so and it doesn't appear like they are going to b/c they asked him to sign his photograph etc.

So, either sit tight till you find out or schedule an Infopass and find out that way.
