Talking to an IO is not a sure thing when you call the 1 800 number. You must first try to convince the customer service representative(CSR) that your case has been pending longer that the posted processing time and that your reference number does not appear online. Please don't abuse this if you're case has only been pending for a few months.
This being said, try options 1(english), then 2, then 6..that will get you to a customer service rep (CSR). Provide them your case reference number (or one that doesn't show up online) and tell them your case has been pending for longer that the posted processing time. If you're lucky, the CSR will transfer your call to an IO.
