I'm NJ & want to travel immediately.....what is the procedure to file AP.....????

Can I walk in to Newark, NJ..???

You can certainly try. I do not know if Newark will give AP to walk-ins. You'll need to fill out an I-131 and bring along the filing fee.

Do you have an unexpired H visa that you could travel on instead?

Don't worry, I was told by Newark office that they issue walkin AP's and whatever the reason, I was given one last month as I had pending AP for 90 days, did not pay fee as he just attached the copy of the receipt notice, the officer clearly told me that I should not have wasted my time by sending applic to VSC, it seems Newark has a liberal policy for the AP.

This is what you need to do:

Take:

One application filled
If you don't have one pendign applic then certified check or money order for the fee they don't accept personal check
2 photographs
copy of I485
if you have ticket or itenarary take that too sometime they ask for that too, however I was not asked for that.

As for me I told them clearly that I am going for vacation, if you have some other reason tell them that.

There was one other person beside me who got AP for NO EMERGENCY, they issued me AP for 1 year for multiple, just came back 2 weeks back from India.

Don't worry, you will have to spend 4-5 hrs, but when you think of the benefit of meeting your family etc it is 100% worth it.

I am in Stamford-Connecticut and want to go abroad asap not for an emergency reason.How can i get my AP before feburary 2009?.Is there any suggestions please advice......
Can anybody walk into Newark or it's just for NEW JERSEY people.
