How can i extend my dv visa??

I have won the chance to go to the usa but the problem is that i can not sell my house or rent it (due to the housing market).. is there any way i can extend the dvvisa.. the us gave me six months for port of entry.. then i have extra six months ... i am hoping all is sorted before that.... just trying to find out what options i may have???

You can apply for an re-entry permit, which allows you to stay 2 years out of the country.

You can do this only in the U.S. Another problem is, it needs biometrics since this year. So you have to stay there unitl USCIS has made an appointment for you or you have to return for it if you left the country before.

I understand your problem, but with the way things are going do you think house prices will recover in about a year or even two years? I'm just guessing though, a lot depends on where you are living. We are in a housing boom here in Nepal. But anyway, i hope things will go well for you.

You can replace your visa. However, that could be done only if both conditions are satisfied:
1. You replace it during the same fiscal year it was obtained.
2. You have to do that before the visa expires, and you have to prove at the consulate you cannot use your current visa because of reasons beyond your control. Your reason does not look like that.

If your visa is to be replaced, you have to pay the $400 fee (the DV surgarge is not to be paid twice).
