How 6 yrs counted?

Hi,

Since Oct 1998, I have been working in US on different L1s and one B1 visa for durations ranging from 2 months to 2 yrs. Between each visits I have stayed in India for 4 to 6 months. I will now enter US on H1B. I have following questions:
1. L1 and H1 time spent togather will be 6 yrs or each category is 6 yrs? My understanding is togather.
2. When 6 yrs is calculated, is it time between entry and exit dates to/from US which is used for calculation or Visa issue and expiry date or any other mechanism?
3. Time spent on B1 should be included or excluded?
4. 7th yr extension for H1B is possible after: LC filed since 365+ days OR I140/485 filed OR any other stage? I am getting different answers.

3. Time spent on B1 should be included or excluded?
---- I think time spent on B1/b2 will be excluded

---- you have to be working on H1b status in US, extension can only be filed when you are in US, 7th year extension can be filed if LC pending more than 365 days( you need the evidence to prove it) or I-140 pending or I-485 pending

1. I'll re-phrase the question. Does 6 yrs on H1 include L1 classification period as well? That is time spent on L1 is added with H1 to calculate 6 yrs?

2. I have come to US multiple times only on L1 or B1. After each visit there was a gap of 4 to 6 months during that time I was in India. Should my India stay be then calculated in 6 yrs?
