Hopeless feeling

I have a high rank number(check it out on my profile) , I have an internet connection, I happened to browse alot of websites and DV cut off's from previous years and unless I am lucky or have been going to church daily , then and only then with some miracle will I get an interview slot.

I feel frustrated and desperate all at the same time , looking at 67,XXX which is such a high number I wish it represented money rather than my "lucky" lottery digits.

November is at 10,000 for Africa , when will it even get to 60,000 or rather more realistically , 70,000 which is what i need to secure an interview. :-(

Someone tell me otherwise, cause if I dont win I'll never play the lottery again. :-(

But there is an important development in DV 2008 that cut off numbers goes faster than previous Dv programs..It should give you more hope..

Hey don't be so hard on yourself. Granted your CN is not a very good one but that is just the way it goes sometimes. No one can say for certain at this point what the final cutoff numbers will be but history is not on your side. You should not be so quick to give up though. Some people have been trying for ten years and still have not won but they have not given up.

I would advise you to enter the current lottery (for 2009). Other persons have won more than once, it could happen for you as well. Don't give up hope.

Thanks for your support guyz , I have my passport ready my police records ,evidence of education, affidavit of support is doable at request , now i haven't gone for medical checkups cause I dont want to get a needle jab all for nothing and am not going to the US ne-wayz.

I will wait till July 2008 next year , if my number is not current I'll not go to get vaccinations , cause it all ends in september 30th 2008.

Statistically you may never be called up for interview.
Nevertheless "give up" can't be the solution. First of all play the DV2009. Secondly continue your life as usual and remain positive. We Africans believe, "God's time is the best". Your time will come and it will be the best.

If 100,000 people are chosen , and this is a lottery , why are CN numbers taken sequentially when the last half of the "lucky winners" i.e 50,000 - 100,000 still deserve the same opportunity as the first 50,000.

Why not pick CN's randomly to spread out the chance of the last guys (50,000-100,000) to atleast get in.

This is really painful to think about.

Why don't they just send out 50,000 CN's only.

It seems the issue is that VISA's are limited , wont that help alot? At least everyone who get's a notification letter gets to know that they get a chance to get a GC, which makes more sense.And they end up saving on VISA's , which is the main agenda behind the biasing.

I feel stupid holding on to my NL letters knowing that I don't already even fall close to the limit that they require. I am already 20,000 people too much.

I hope no one calls me a conspiracy theorist lol , I am just at the ends of my wits right now trying to figure out what to do now that I am positive that things aren't gonna go my way

Take it easy man. I can understand how you feel, but i think you should continue with life like you never got the NL and see what happens.

There are some 2007 winners with high case numbers who never expected that they would never be current till they found out at the last minute. You can read their comments on the 2007 thread. They had no choice but to trust in God and move on in life.

Just take it easy and believe that Gods plans for you are good whether you get a GreenCard or not. Easy for me to say right? . Well i sincerely hope you get current sometime. Take care.

Hi every one in the house,am thinking if i can email KCC about my issue disscused in the house some month ago,becos i have done alot of reaserch,advice and my conclution is to let them know about it since i have nothing to hide and i beleive they will appreciate it.Remember the issue of inclusion of my nece in my DV2008,since shes a child living with mem, but i now got to realise that she's not qualified to be included.Please i need your advice now.

Sorry to say that, but I think there is a high chance that they will disqualify you.

Hi Tazmania,thank's for your response, actually this issue as been disscussed befor in the house is just that am thinking if i can mail KCC before my interview date,i got to know that she was included wen i got NL In Which another form was incluided in it,while filling the form it shows that she's not my dauther through the information i filled for her she's just my nece and my ward,simply becos i have been taking care of her due to her parent not been able to send her to school and i dont want to leave her behind.the advice is that should i inform the KCC about it or wait till the interview day,will i be given a chance to explain? or should i drop her on the day of interview and tell them i got to findout she's not qulified.please have it in mind that am hiding nothing this is just the truth.

That is a very, very difficult situation for you. I would explain it as soon as possible to KCC, I'm sure if you wait till the interview they disqualify you right away.

It is better you send a mail to kcc explaining this b4 your interview. If you chance of being disqulified is high l believe strongly it will be lowed or rmoved if you explain this to kcc now

It is better that you send a mail to kcc explaining this.If you chance of being disqulified is high as tazmania said; l believe strongly it will be reduced or removed by your explanation to kcc now b4 your interview

I personally dont see the sense in the KCC sending what looks to me as a far higher amount of NL than the number that will most likely get their Visa.

I remember seeing someone in the forum with a number even higher than yours. AF69XXX!

You know what folks, I use to think that if one wins the DV lottery, one automatically get the visa issued.

I now know better...

Yazoo let me be very objective on the issue and say the entire process is very fair and offers equal chances for everyone. Just go back and read all the instructions before and after the lottery. Everything has been explained very clearly. NL only notifies you that you have been selcted or preselected. The Winners are those who finally get the Greencard.

Please Tolu I'm not an immigration lawyer talkless of DV expert but it takes common sense to guess what might happen.
First of all what you have done leads to disqualification. You won't have the chance to explain. Maybe Security may help escort you out. THE END
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
I don't know you personally but I fear you may not be able to handle it by yourself. Somebody may need to help you send an immediate e-mail to KCC with very strong arguments and reasons why you made that deadly mistake of including your niece in the forms to KCC. Ask KCC to cancel the form, download another form from the internet, fill it correctly, sign it and send it back to KCC. I can't think of any other possibility. Remember the most important thing is that KCC gets another set of signed forms from you. If they have already finished processing your document, that may be bad news for you because you must have been disqualified. I wish you good luck and God bless
